Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Power Smoothie

December 13, 2018 By Me2Admin

A nutritious, energizing smoothie for all of the chocolate lovers!

World, meet the yummiest smoothie in all the land. Not only is this little number delicious, it is packed with tons of vitamins, minerals and healthy fats to give you the energy you need to persevere when the caffeine rush dwindles. As a mama of two toddlers, it can be difficult to find the time to prep a meal thats not going onto a Dora or Paw Patrol plate. I like to blend this bad boy together before we leave the house in the morning and I’m pretty certain this has prevented a few ‘hangry’ meltdowns — from the adult in the room at least! Before I get into everything that is jam packed into this drink, there is one thing you are going to need.

Behold, the NUTRiBULLET. Not to be confused with the MagicBullet. While this little number is from the same manufacturers, it is a much higher performance blender. If you are looking for a pulverizer on a budget, search no more! For this smoothie recipe, you will need something like this, a Breville, Vitamix — you get the idea.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large scoop of Vega Protein & Greens
  • 1-2 tablespoon of Fatso high performance peanut butter
  • 2-3 whole or chopped dates
  • 1-2 cups of almond or cashew milk
  • 1 whole banana (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon of Ovaltine for a little treat (optional – but also wtf?)
  • 1 tablespoon of Maca powder (or skip the maca powder and supplement with a capsule)

If you know me, you know that I have a very large sweet tooth and a love affair with Ovaltine. I know, weird and a little gross. But, I like how it cuts the protein taste out of the Vega powder. I was out of maca powder today, so I made sure I followed up this shake with a vitamin capsule which has the added benefit of ginseng.

Whether you are using this shake for post-workout recovery or just as your go-to morning pick me up, it will have you energized and ready to take on the day!

Feel free to improvise with your ingredients and switch it up if you get bored — maybe adding something like dried cherries, crushed almonds, or using one of the amazing Nut Meg Mylks. But, below are the three major components you will want to stick with if you are hoping to get that much needed energy boost.

Enjoy!
